How to care for your prayer mat so it lasts

A good prayer mat is something you use every day, so a little care goes a long way.

Keep it clean

Shake the mat out gently after use and keep it away from shoes and outdoor dust. Spot clean small marks with a damp cloth and mild soap.

Fold it neatly and keep it in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid placing heavy items on top of it.

Check the care label first. Most printed or velvet mats do best with gentle hand washing and air drying flat in the shade.
